For the first time, after three years of searching how I want to position myself as a graphic designer, I searched for my visual language through this assignment. Or at least the basics forms I love to work with.
For this design, I started looking for things I'm interested in outside of my graphic design studies, I quickly stumbled upon my interest in textiles and everything around them; I am most of the time busy knitting, crocheting, sewing, weaving,... Everything that has to do with handcrafts. It seemed to me the perfect opportunity to go deeper into this interest, both in my practice and in the bachelor thesis I had to wright.
First I started a research on the history of textile design; who has worked with textiles over the years, I am going to insert a period of time and zoom in on it?... With these questions and my interests in femininity and textiles, I sat up the frame of reference for this assignment.
